Since 2016, specifically around 15 October, various cultural institutions have been celebrating Women Writers' Day, an initiative that aims to vindicate and highlight the cultural legacy of women writers.
Through the Women Writers Edit-a-thon we want to continue contributing to the reduction of the gender gap in Wikipedia, giving more visibility to women writers, journalists and translators, their work and legacy, in different languages of the Iberian Peninsula. Therefore, we propose an online and multilingual edit-a-thon to improve the content about women writers in Basque, Extremaduran, Galician and Portuguese. Help us to increase the information and visibility of this topic in the free encyclopaedia, so that it reaches more people. Take part between 1 and 15 October by creating or improving articles.
