[edit]Saturday 29th November 2025 1pm to 4pm
[edit]Venue: Cardiff Central Library, The Hayes, Cardiff, CF10 1FL
Join Wikimedia LGBT+ and Wikimedia UK for an in person friendly social to help improve Wikipedia’s coverage of AIDS cultural history in English, Welsh or any other languages you speak.
Who is this event for?
[edit]This event is open to experienced and brand new editors interested in editing articles about HIV and AIDS.
No prior subject or Wiki knowledge is needed (although we very much welcome those who do have expertise to share). We will provide some information and resources on the day and help you find edits appropriate to your current level of understanding about AIDS and your Wiki skills.
Do I need to come for the whole event?
[edit]If you are an experienced editor, feel free to drop in for however long you would like and come edit with us with tea and snacks.
For any new editors we'll be offering a short training on how to edit Wikipedia and troubleshooting support with your first few edits. We ask that new editors come for the whole session so we can train you all together.
Finding us
[edit]If you are travelling by train, Cardiff Central Library is a short walk (0.2 miles) from Cardiff Central or 0.4 miles from Cardiff Queen Street station].
If travelling by bus, the nearest stops are on and a similar distance from St Mary's Street, Customhouse street or at the back of John Lewis (Bute Terrace) or the new bus station is 0.3 miles away.
We'll share instructions about where exactly to find us in the library with registered attendees closer to the date. If you're anxious, please message User:Gemma Coleman (WMUK) and I can give you my mobile number to help you find us on the day.
