- @EmmaSRC: Renamer note: This username may classify as an inappropriate username under the username policy because it implies you are someone you are not, and also indicates a potential conflict of interest. Your username should represent you, individually, not the individual subject about which you are writing. Please see WP:NAMEGUIDE for more information. Please choose another name. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 19:12, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- I've already been through this with someone else. I have been authorised by Mark G Contreras to write his Wikipedia (employed as a freelnacer). So it should pose no issue at all. I am not writing about me I am writing about a client who has requested that I write his Wikipedia. EmmaSRC (talk) 19:23, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- @EmmaSRC: I'm sorry for any confusion. You don't need to be authorized by anyone to write (or contribute to) an article about that person. Additionally, your username is not (and should not be) a reflection of any specific individual article you're working on. Your username should represent you, not your clients or your company. Since it looks like you were talking to Cabayi on your userpage, I'll tag them into the conversation as well. As it is, I'm disinclined to approve this request. Perhaps they can offer additional insight. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 19:47, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- Can I politely ask then that you tell me how to make sure that the page reflects my client? So far all I'm getting is you can do this, you can't do this, which doesn't really help me. All I want to do is make sure the article is about him and not me, it can't be that hard to do! Originally it was my own account writing about him which seems fair enough. All of these comments aren't very constructive really. Is there any way that I can bypass these comments and when my draft is ready just submit it and take any changes required from there?! I don't want a load of commentary, unless I want to ask a question. Thank you. EmmaSRC (talk) 19:58, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- @EmmaSRC: The confusion seems to be conflating your user account with the article you are currently working on. If you want the article to be reflective of your client, your username has nothing to do with that. You can find tips on making a good article here: Help:Your first article. That page has a lot of useful information on making sure the article you write is the best it can be. Regarding Articles for Creation, that's an entirely voluntary process designed to help those who are unfamiliar with creating an article here. If you read through the help page I linked, you will find all the information you need to make the article acceptable under Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 20:11, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- Nihonjoe, that's what I told EmmaSRC on their global request, with a note that we won't allow them to WP:IMPERSONATE Contreras.
- Emma, User:EmmaSRC is your page as an editor, Draft:Mark G. Contreras is your draft article (which I split out from your user page).
