February Meeting[edit]

The Foundation updates

The participants heard from Nada from the Human Rights team on digital rights protection and resources that are being made available in Arabic,
The role of the HR team within the movement and how volunteers can seek their support.
Farida shared some more information about the grants and partnerships priorities for the region - namely that the foundation is focused on building partnerships that unlock barriers to grants in the region and other partnerships that focus on GLAM focus areas.
The building of the capacity of volunteers to apply for grants.
Manar from Movement Communications shared more about the APP process and how we will seek community input over the coming period.

In the open discussion

The main points that were brought up focused on the importance of ensuring transparency and being detail-oriented in budgeting when applying for a grant at the Foundation.
Another topic that came up was the importance of GLAM partnerships when it comes to supporting the documentation of the destruction of cultural and historically significant heritage sites in Gaza.
How to preserve archives that may exist to document the lives of the people of Gaza and those who have been killed or have lost their lives as a result of the conflict.
