China-Nigeria Wiki Collaboration is an intial cooperative project, led by Wikimedia UG Nigeria (WUGN) and Wikimedians of Mainland China (WMC) that aims to strengthen the partnership between two communities and to write high qualified articles on history, geography, civilization, culture, biography, and other related topics.

The 1st project of our partnership will start on August 1st, 2021, and will continue until August 31st, 2021. Users of both communities will write articles about each other.

1st Project (Rules)

In a nutshell: Create or translate articles related to Nigeria (for Chinese) and China (for Nigerian) topics, with better sources, between August 1st - August 31st, 2021 UTC.

  • The article should be related to Nigeria (for Chinese) and China (for Nigerian).
  • The article should be edited between August 1st - August 31st, 2021 (UTC).
  • The article should meet the qualification standard; the details based on each language. (exclude Infobox, template etc.)
  • The article must have decent references; doubtful or controversial statements in the article should be verifiable by the citation(s) listed in that article.
  • The article must not be purely machine translated and should be properly copyedited.
  • There must be no major issues with the article. (no copyright violations, questions of notability, etc.)
  • The article should be informative.
  • Articles submitted by an organizer need to be checked by other organizers.
  • Judge(s) from Chinese/Nigerian Community will determine whether an article is accepted or not for their language Wikipedias.
  • Each participant who creates at least one article will get a barnstar after the end of the edit-a-thon.
