File talk:Pacific1982.jpg

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

I created this image on August 2, 2003. It is completely original, in that no element was taken or borrowed from another source, except for the font that was used to create the word "Wikipedia." The image of the flower is from a photo which was made by me. Photo was manipulated digitally using Photoshop 5.5.

This copy of the logo is necessarily of a small size as per contest guidelines. I can make a larger copy available upon request. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pacific1982 (talk) 17:47, 6 August 2003 (UTC)[reply]

8/9/2003 ... I revised my design. Omitted the word "Wikipedia" as it would be different for each language / international usage.

The flower symbolizes the growth and artistic merit of the project. The "ones" and "zeros" encircling the flower represent the binary digital aspect of computer storage and retrieval. The inner two infinity symbols crossed at right angles represent the infinity of knowledge and humankind's continued quest for it. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pacific1982 (talk) 15:38, 9 August 2003 (UTC)[reply]

Good creativity.

This is terrific! I love the few-colour flower. --Menchi 08:51, 23 Aug 2003 (UTC)
