What is the problem you're trying to solve?[edit]
I am trying to assess Wikipedia's utility on Botswana healthcare facilities,evaluate, update, and translate HIV/AIDS Wikipedia articles using Batswana medical students, residents, HIV experts, faculty, and librarians. If we can successfully create awareness and enthusiasm surrounding Wikipedia article evaluation, we can continue Wikipedia article editing, thereby enhancing the Botswana and Africa-specific Wikipedia coverage as well as increasing the article translations.
What is your solution?[edit]
- There will be an Increase Setswana translated articles on Wikipedia
- Edit the selected HIV/AIDS Wikipedia articles to achieve a tremendous quality.
- Awareness will be created and capacity building with respect to Wikipedia within Botswana.
- Use our article evaluations and updates for future Wikipedia training of Batswana healthcare workers and assessment of Wikipedia's potential use as an mHealth tool.
Who will you be doing outreach with?[edit]
Botswana Upenn Partnership, University of Botswana Library and Orange Botswana.
Goals[edit]
The goal of this project is to evaluate, update, and translate HIV/AIDS Wikipedia articles using Batswana medical students, residents, HIV experts, faculty, and librarians. If we can successfully create awareness and enthusiasm surrounding Wikipedia article evaluation, we can continue Wikipedia article editing, thereby enhancing the Botswana and Africa-specific Wikipedia coverage as well as increasing the article translations. In addition, we hope to use our article evaluations and updates for future Wikipedia training of Batswana healthcare workers and assessment of Wikipedia's potential use as an mHealth tool.
