These are the mailing lists of the Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit organization in the state of Florida which operates Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikiquote, Wiktionary, Wikisource, Wikiversity and other wiki-based projects.

A mailing list is like a shared email address: messages sent to that address are distributed to all members (subscribers) of the list. See the Wikipedia article on mailing lists for more information.

Archives are available for online reading; posting generally requires signing up. The mailman list overview page can be found at mail:. Some lists can be searched and read (as threads, blogs or RSS or with a NNTP newsreader) on Gmane, see links (and gmane.science.linguistics.wikipedia, gmane.org.wikimedia).

See the main mailing list page for more information on Wikimedia lists.
