Talk:India Program/Indic Languages/Tamil/Discussions/2011

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

It is hightime that the Tamil and Malayalam Wikipedians get connected together and work together on at least certain nominated common contours. We are among the top of list when it comes to active Indic wikipedias. Further, we share some very common cultural and linguistic pathways.
I suggest that we form one or many collaborative user groups among us focusing on particular topics such as films, literature, history etc. etc. Besides enriching both our wikipedias, this will go a long way in helping our common mass who anyway have to interact (between Kerala and Tamil Nadu) on a day to day basis for their own real world life.
A model thus developed can then be scaled upward to work successfully between each and every Indic Wikipedias. ViswaPrabha (വിശ്വപ്രഭ) 19:50, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Good suggestion. A problem i foresee is from our side. So far our communication/coordination is 99% is onwki and through the village pump. Our email groups and social media pages are inactive and our blog is by design to communicate to non wikipedians. We should be shifting some of the communication to outside wiki, so that we can talk back with other communities. But we do try to follow the best practices of ML wiki and try to implement them whereever possible. We will try to do something about shifting some of our communication outside.--Sodabottle 06:19, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
