Wiki Loves Music 2018
1st edition, May 21 - June 10, 2018

Welcome to the Wikipedia editing contest around Italian music!

Wiki Loves Music is an editing contest about Italian music, artists, songs and all related topics.

For this first edition, there will be three separate contests, related to the Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese Wikipedias.

  • Who can participate? Anyone interested in learning how to edit in Wikipedia and improve or translate music-related articles can take part to the contest. It is only necessary to have a user account and to be registered in the participants section.
  • When will it be? The editing contest runs from May 21, 2018, 00:01 UTC+1 to June 10, 2018, 23:59 UTC+1.
  • How can I participate? Points can be achieved by creating new articles or expanding existing ones on Italian, Spanish or Portuguese Wikipedia. The scoring system is as follows:
  • +1 point for each 1000 bytes of content added.
  • +1 point for each translated article.
  • +2 points if the article is new in your language.
So, let's make a couple of examples:
  • If you improve an existing article, adding 3,600 bytes of content, you get 3 points;
  • If you create a new article and it is 4,000 bytes long, you get 6 points: 2 points for starting a new article and 4 for its extension;
  • ...and so on.

The contest is organised by Wikimedia Italia and Istituto centrale per i beni sonori ed audiovisivi, in cooperation with Iberocoop. Are you interested in holding a contest in your language? Contact the Wikipedian-in-residence @ ICBSA!
