Wikidata/Notes
From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki
< Wikidata
The development of Wikidata will require a number of design decisions that are not trivial. The following notes describe the problems and the current thoughts on how to solve them. They also serve as a request for comments and discussions. Often the solutions are not perfect, in some cases they cannot be, but we hope that the input of the community can considerably improve them. We also hope that the explicit reasoning for or against certain solutions might provide insights for developers in a similar situation.
Some of the following descriptions are overly technical. I hope that they get more understandable over time.
- URI scheme - Which URIs to choose for the entities described in Wikidata
- DBpedia and Wikidata - On the relationship of DBpedia and Wikidata
