CentralNotice/Request

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Start your request for a CentralNotice banner campaign here!

The aims of this process are as follows:

  • To improve community access to central notice through a clear and transparent process.
  • To improve best practice and ensure greater consistency in campaign implementation.
  • To improve communication around campaigns. Creating clear forums for feedback on campaigns, providing metrics back to campaigns and also a clear method for assessing community consensus for campaigns relating to advocacy.
  • To reduce potential clashes between campaigns

Requests must be made, at minimum, 10 days in advance of any campaign

Step #1 : Review the usage guidelines for CentralNotice
Step #2 : Create your request
Step #3 : Include it on this page.
Step #4 : Add it to the calendar and check for conflicting campaigns in your period for language/geotargeting. Contact the organizers of the other campaigns to solve them!
Step #5 : Notify target projects and geographic affiliates. Add edit diff links to request.
Step #6 : CN Admin & Community feedback [7 days]
Advocacy/Payments: WMF Legal Review [21 days])
Step #7 : Approval/rejection
Step #8 : CN Admin sets up campaign (recommended to allow for up 3 days)
Step #9 : Campaign enabled

The African Union, under the Agenda 2063 seeks to create revitalized, high-quality, and unified educational systems that meet the needs of Africa, generate acceptable attitudes, values, knowledge, and skills, and support the continent's participation in the international economy of knowledge. With the Africa Wiki Challenge 2024, our objective is to call attention to and recognize the diverse educational perspectives in Africa, encouraging the sharing of information and expertise through engaging content contributions.

Central Notice admin comments[edit]

  • @Kaffzz: Thank you for your CentralNotice request. Unfortunately, you seem to have missed adding significant information to the request (targeted Wiki projects, languages, countries, anonymous/registered users, etc.). Please complete your request so that we can give better feedback. Some general remarks:
    • Translations: Campaigns can only be displayed in projects and languages where banner and landing page have the respective translations. Your banner is English only so far.
    • Community involvement: For that reason we recommend to reach out early to local communities for their approval to be included into the campaign (see Wikimedia projects for easier access to village pumps). We also recommend ambassadors to local wikis as in other global campaigns.
    • Banners: We CentralNotice administrators cannot use GIFs for creating the banners, we need HTML/CSS/JavaScript versions (including cookie-based close buttons). Besides the fact that they wouldn't be usable in mobile campaigns (and I assume that you also want to target mobile users, as a majority uses these devices). Furthermore, we will not display banners with such wild movement of elements that could be misunderstood as ads. Please reduce the noise in the design.
  • Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 18:21, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @DerHexer, thank you for your response. I appreciate the feedback.
The other part of the information section skipped me. Thank you for the prompt. However, I have filled in all the details now.
Translations: For now, we would prefer the banner to be only in English. We seek to translate it into French as well but for the sake of time, just English is fine.
Community involvement: Well noted, we have started reaching out.
Banners: Well noted, I have switched the design totally to something simpler. Also, it is no longer in GIF form. Kindly let me know if this okay.
    Best Regards Kaffzz (talk) 17:35, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Kaffzz: Thanks for some clarifications! :) Some more remarks:
    • Unfortunately, you haven't said if you want to target “Logged In Users” and/or “Anonymous Users” I read “Banner can be showed” which I don't understand.
    • You want to target English and French projects but your banner is English only. We can only enable the campaign for those languages available in the banner and landing page (which is English-only as well right now).
    • Take a look at the preview of the banner. Other than recommended, you didn't provide HTML/CSS/JavaScript but a new GIF. It is technically possible to display the banner but it really doesn't look good. On mobile devices the banner is much too wide. We could only enable it on desktop devices. What do you think about this?
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 19:09, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Banners - Hello, @DerHexer:! How are you? Here's the information for the Mais Mulheres campaign banner.

The overall design could mirror that of the Mais Povos originários banner, which looked great! There are just a few changes:

Instead of the logo, we'd like to use an image of the wikicontest's prizes, which you can find here. Do you think it's possible? Additionally, the background color should be changed to #B984AA.

Text1: Participe do Concurso de Edição Mais Mulheres em Teoria da História na Wiki, entre os dias 27 de junho e 25 de julho de 2024, e contribua para fechar lacunas de gênero. Font: Open Sans Light, size 24, black.

Text2: Inscreva-se aqui. Font: Open Sans Light, size 29, white. For the box, the color is #E34B81.

Thanks a lot for the help! If you have any doubts, please contact me.

Discussion[edit]

@Bruna Grando (Projeto Mais+) I've created the campaign [1] and the banner [2] (preview [3]). As you can see the requested font size is way too large (and/or it's too much text). The problem gets worse if the banner is displayed on mobile devices. Using an image that doesn't take so much space (e.g. square shaped) would probably help as well. --Johannnes89 (talk) 14:41, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Olá,@Johannnes89:. Thank you for your feedback, but for some reason I can't see the preview. Can you check, please?--Danielly Figueredo (Projeto Mais+) (talk) 09:54, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Danielly Figueredo (Projeto Mais+) perhaps try this one [4]? --Johannnes89 (talk) 16:55, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, @Johannnes89:. Can you make the letters smaller so we can see them better? I think maybe size 22 for the larger text and 27 for “Inscreva-se” might work. Please feel free to make them smaller if you see the need. Danielly Figueredo (Projeto Mais+) (talk) 14:50, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Danielly Figueredo (Projeto Mais+) and Bruna Grando (Projeto Mais+): that doesn't help much. It's ok when changed to 19px for both the larger text & button text [5], but still pretty bad if you open the banner on mobile [6] (and the majority of readers uses mobile devices). The banner text should contain less characters and/or the text size should be reduced even more (like your banner from 2022 [7]). Alternatively you should consider using an image that doesn't take as much space (e.g. like this banner [8]) which would allow for more text to be used. --Johannnes89 (talk) 15:52, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, @Johannnes89:. If you shorten the sentence to: “Participe do Concurso de Edição Mais Mulheres em Teoria da História na Wiki e contribua para fechar lacunas!” is that better? I think that should solve the problem. Danielly Figueredo (Projeto Mais+) (talk) 16:37, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Should be ok (preview [9], mobile version [10]). Mobile version is not ideal yet (depending on the device) but probably acceptable. --Johannnes89 (talk) 10:58, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Central Notice admin comments[edit]

  • @AndreFrank-WMIL and מקף: Please note that campaigns have to requested at least 10 days in advance (see CNR) because of possible issues that can show up. Unfortunately, that's here the case:
    • What is this campaign about? As CentralNotice administrators, we had to give a category to the campaign (Article writing, Photography, Event, Fundraising, etc.). Unfortunately, my Hebrew is a bit odd and without any information beyond Wikimedia Israel campaign "רוצים שהעולם ילמד שהוא עגול? עגלו לטובת הוויקיפדיה העברית!" I cannot assign a useful category.
    • As far as I can conclude from the automated translation of the landing page, you are (also) asking for donations. As per CentralNotice guidelines, any kind of fundraising campaigns have to be forwarded to the Wikimedia Foundation staff 90 days in advance so that agreements can be signed, etc.
    • Campaigns that intend to target wide audiences (i.e., anonymous users in particular) should be announced on the local village pump and usually can only be enabled when there is no objection from the local community as well.
    • Lastly, we cannot make good use of images for CentralNotice banners. Although I could embed it into a banner and make the general background black, it will be a major problem for all devices beyond desktop PCs (mobile views often cover more than 50 % of readers so that you likely don't want me to disable that). Usually, either the banner design is provided in HTML/CSS/JavaScript by the requester or we adapt the standard banner where we can use one logo on the left (maybe another one on the right) and a short text with only a few other changes at max. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 12:15, 1 March 2024 (UTC) PS: See further my presentation about CentralNotice campaigns here.[reply]
  • Hi, thanks for the detailed explanation. This is the first time I make such a request and what you wrote helps me a lot.
    * So, for me, probably just to postpone the start and end date respectively, I guess the main thing is that it will take about a month in total.
  • This is a WMIL fundraising campaign, suggests the readers who are interested in doing so, to round the purchases amounts on credit to the nearest new shekel round whole number, and to donate the Israeli agoras (= the little rounded amount). If you would like to know more about this donation concept (quite familiar in Israel), here is a more detailed explanation: w:he:עיגול לטובה (machine translation to english)
  • Ok. @Andre, I hope you can take care of this aspect. Perhaps the WMF already knows the WMIL campaign from previous years and will confirm it quickly.
  • Ok, announced on w:he:WP:מזנון#M:CentralNotice/Request/Wikimedia Israel, Igul LeTova 2024
  • Is it possible to implement this banner using two separate almost identical banners, the only difference being that one is optimized for desktop and the other for mobile devices?
Thank you! · מקף Hyphen · 12:54, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks for the proposed steps. As soon as I have all information, I can set up the campaign without the further delay of 10 days. I can also add two banner variants, one for desktop, the other for mobile. Please keep in mind that only HTML/CSS/JavaScript can be used, no wiki markup (the image could be used but has flaws, as said). I'm pinging JBrungs (WMF) so that she is notified about the campaign and can add her OK when everything is cut and dried from the fundraising end. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 16:41, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    Thank you @DerHexer.
@AndreFrank-WMIL and מקף: I know WMIL has run the Round Up campaign before. Have you been in touch with the WMF office this year? I was in touch with @OphirT - WMIL about the campaign last year. We need to renew agreements before you can run the campaign. If this has already happened, great, but can you drop me an email at jbrungs at wikimedia dot org and let me know the details so I can double check this from my side? Thank you! JBrungs (WMF) (talk) 06:40, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Letting everyone know that the agreement is now signed and the banners are good to go from my side. @AndreFrank-WMIL and @DerHexer. JBrungs (WMF) (talk) 05:27, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    We'll need new dates then. ;) Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 13:06, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@AndreFrank-WMIL and מקף: Will you continue this campaign or can it be marked as closed? Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 14:20, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think the banner is still relevant, will be checked. · מקף Hyphen · 15:10, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello everyone! I really appreciate your collaboration and support! Our plan is to kick off the campaign in May, however, the Wikimedia Israel board has requested a revision of the design before the launch. They also suggested starting with two slightly different versions to test their effectiveness. Based on the analysis of which version performs better, we will continue with the most successful one for the rest of the campaign.
Please find the approved files attached here:
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. AndreFrank-WMIL (talk) 03:27, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@DerHexer, @מקף, @JBrungs (WMF) can you help me understand how we can advance from here on? Thanks! AndreFrank-WMIL (talk) 06:16, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@AndreFrank-WMIL: Please let us know the exact dates and how you intend to test the two versions. :) Usually, you will need access to wikitech:Analytics for banner display data. We CentralNotice administrators cannot provide that. How did you plan to test the effectiveness? Do you want each of them to take donors to different pages where you will do the test? Furthermore, we cannot build banners from PNG mockups either, we need a pure HTML/CSS/JavaScript version (including close buttons, etc.). Can you provide that, please? Thanks and best, —DerHexer (Talk) 17:05, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Mr Tortue please add your campaign to CentralNotice/Calendar per CentralNotice/Usage guidelines and please provide a link showing that you notified the frwiki community of your CN request, allowing others to comment on this request (e.g. in case there are objections to the banner). And please provide a list of countries to be targeted instead of leaving it to CN admins to determine which countries we consider french-speaking. --Johannnes89 (talk) 09:53, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The message on the Village Pump of fr: is here: fr:Wikipédia:Le_Bistro/7_mai_2024#Demande_de_bannière. Pyb (talk) 14:29, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Central Notice admin comments[edit]

  • @Pyb, Luc Hervier WMFr, and VIGNERON: I've created the campaign and banner (preview). I'm a little bit confused by the long campaign duration; usually we only approve campaigns for two to four weeks. In the banner text, I can also read about the contest time between 15 August and 27 September—why is it necessary to start the campaign on 1 July? I've reduced the diet to 5 displays every two weeks at max. Please clarify, take a look at everything and ping me for activation. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 09:48, 9 May 2024 (UTC) PS: Nice to see that you my massmail system was mentioned in one of the PDFs. There is another new tool available now, maybe take a look at this one too.[reply]
@DerHexer: yes, the campaign for the banner is long because the contest is long. We also would like to let people know in advance ; especially as with summer vacation the traffic is a bit lower and also to give the opportunity for people to take pictures in advance (some events that are in the scope of the contest happens only during summer).
Displaying it less often could be a solution, maybe we can also start a bit later (July 15 for instance ?) and ends a bit earlier (20 September) and increase a bit the diet?
Feel free to ask all the questions you need. Cheers, VIGNERON * discut. 10:39, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with DerHexer that such a long campaign period is not ideal – especially as the campaign targets both logged in users and readers (who cannot opt out of banners). Running it with a reduced diet might be ok though. Note that per CentralNotice/Usage guidelines#Campaign implementation long campaigns usually require community consensus. Johannnes89 (talk) 11:02, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@VIGNERON: I've changed the duration accordingly. Are you okay with the white background? I had to change it because the white background of the logo didn't look good on the general grey background of the banner. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 16:31, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    @DerHexer: perfect, thanks! Cheers, VIGNERON * discut. 13:29, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Banners - Hello, @DerHexer:! How are you? Here's the information for the Mais Diversidade campaign banner.

The overall design could mirror that of the Mais Povos originários banner, which looked great! There are just a few changes:

Instead of the logo, we'd like to use an image of the wikicontest's prizes, which you can find here. Do you think it's possible? Additionally, the background color should be changed to #8153D6.

Text1: Participe do Concurso de Edição Mais Diversidade em Teoria da História na Wiki, entre os dias 11 de outubro e 11 de novembro de 2024, e contribua para visibilizar conhecimentos dissidentes. Font: Open Sans Light, size 24, black.

Text2: Inscreva-se aqui. Font: Open Sans Light, size 29, white. For the box, the color is #5ED5ED.

As you probably noticed, the instructions are pretty similar to the Mais Mulheres' banner, just different background colors, image and text. Maybe using that one as reference when it's done would make the work easier! Again, thanks a lot for the help! If you have any doubts, please contact me.

Discussion[edit]

Central Notice admin comments[edit]

I can help, BUT since this is a request for a local campaign (only for Spanish Wikipedia), a local Mediawiki:Sitenotice would be more suitable than a CentralNotice, and the advantage is that Sitenotices are controlled by your local admins on the Spanish Wikipedia - no need for coordination through Meta! See here and here for a more information. Ciell (talk) 13:19, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What I don't understand is that since 2015 it has been an inactive page on Wikipedia in Spanish, and many local campaigns have happened, and now you're telling us to do it through sitenotice? This scenario is much more complicated, because there is no guide on how to do it on eswiki. I feel like we are not being helped... MiguelAlanCS (talk) 14:04, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We need help here @Vermont:, @MarcoAurelio: MiguelAlanCS (talk) 14:13, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @MiguelAlanCS,
no need to panic please, it's not June 1st yet.
You mention this banner has been run through CN/Meta several years now, but I can't find similar requests in the archives. It would be helpful if you can link me one of the previous requests, so I can have a look at how it was setup back then. In general, I am not the best CN admin to ask for 'creative' banners like this one, but maybe I can copy-cat something from previous editions.
And I do not mean to turn your request down, it's just that I am getting concerns here on Meta from you and also via Telegram, while actually the Mediawiki-interface allows local admins (=56 admins on eswp) to create and run a banner on your local wiki, which is often way easier than having to coordinate through Meta, and depending on a small bunch of Meta volunteers' availability. Ciell (talk) 15:37, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
(It is our first request. And it seems to be very difficult when the requests of other groups are quickly attended to. I don't know why our application is so complicated. We will try it locally, since I see little collaboration here. It's very frustrating.) MiguelAlanCS (talk) 15:50, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi!, the issue is that the MediaWiki:Sitenotice on Wikipedia in Spanish has been in disuse since in eswiki because there is a belief that centralnotice conflicts with our sitenotice. If you confirm this is not the case, we can ask an admin to activate it. Could you point to code/set up they might use as example, please? LuisCG11 (talk) 16:24, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to read your frustration @MiguelAlanCS - again, I can help if you'd like me to. The thing is, that images don't scale well in the CentralNotice so I'll need a 'bare' design to set up the banner. More information about this is in the CN FAQ here: CentralNotice/FAQ#Requesting_a_Central_Notice_banner_on_Meta and the following section CentralNotice/FAQ#Which_information_will_I_need_to_provide?. Banner are not simply wikicode, but need a decent HTML/CSS design, and this means that either the banner has to be designed by a fellow Wikimedian, or any CN admin that has time to attend to your request. I am again very sorry to disappoint.
@LuisCG11 when there is a CN banner active, the Sitenotice will be shown underneath it. It is visually not that great, but they technically don't interfere with anything. Most CN banners are turned on with a 'diet' (limiting the number of times you see them) while a Sitenotice just runs until an admin turns it off again. Mediawiki manual for site notice is here, and the sitenotice is set up in wiki-code. Have a look through the version in the sitenotice' history for some examples. To push a new Sitenotice to be visible, simply increase the Sitenotice id by one point and all that have closed the sitenotice in the past will see it again. Same goes for es:wp:MediaWiki:Anonnotice, but for not-logged in users. When this one is empty, it will show the content of the sitenotice (if any), so be aware.
Looking at their contributions, several of the admins in the history of the pages are still active and I am sure they can lend you a quick hand.
Now, getting back to this banner:
Again, I can set this up for you, but single image banners don't scale on mobile and other devices, so let's not do that to avoid angry Wikimedians. Please allow me to create a simple but decent banner for you, and for this I would need: 1) a single image (with not to many complicated lines, will be shown at 55px), 2) one or two lines of text (max 50-70 characters), and 3) the landing page. Ciell (talk) 16:54, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Since I was pinged, I'd also add for future awareness that the text should be actual text, not part of an image. Otherwise screen readers would have difficulty parsing it (and wouldn't be translatable if it's for more than one language).
Agreed that the line of flags is an issue - on mobile, something that wide really wouldn't scale well. Maybe pick two pairs of flags, and have one on the left of the text and the other on the right (and text in between)?
Imo, a CentralNotice banner is fine - SiteNotice is old and mostly unused across projects, and though it's technically easier for local admins to setup, it doesn't have a lot of the customizability and targeting that CN does. Vermont (🐿️🏳️‍🌈) 17:06, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, @Ciell and @Vermont. First of all, thank you for taking the time to review the request. I designed the banner together with @ElleAnónime and I have a few comments to make as to how we thought it should be displayed. The idea is not that the svg image above would take the whole width of the banner. It should be placed in the middle, and the width could be easily be made reliably responsive, for example, through the use of the min() function as in width: min(1000px, 95%);, or through the use of the max-width property as in max-width: 1000px; width: 95%;. This, way, it wouldn't be overstretched in bigger screens and it would take the whole width (with some margin) in phone screens. The image can be easily centered within the banner by using margin-inline: auto; or by making the parent element a flexbox and using the justify-content property. Sorry that I wrote it down here but I am unable to preview banners, which makes it difficult to work with. As to the text being part of an image, wouldn't screen readers be able to interpret it through the alt attribute? If you still think the image is inadequate after my explanation above, please ping me and I will work on a simpler solution as you suggested. Again, thanks for your time. Nacaru · Talk ✉ 21:23, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Nacaru,
Because CentralNotice is a very powerful tool I am personally hesitant to try out things, especially in a short time frame like this. Maybe @Vermont would be open to try? Ciell (talk) 02:18, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Nacaru,
Out of the interest of time, I created this one that can go live tomorrow. I can change the text, either of the two images, or the background colour if you'd prefer to have them different: I could not find the source for the different flags you used in your image, and just randomly picked a colour from your landing page to make the banner stand out more. Happy to change to what you prefer. Ciell (talk) 09:13, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
(also pinging @MiguelAlanCS and @LuisCG11) Ciell (talk) 09:32, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hola. Estamos debatiendo usar otras imágenes. en brece contestaremos. Gracias. (Hello. We are debating using other images. We will answer shortly. Thank you.) MiguelAlanCS (talk) 10:18, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the update; just ping me when you are ready for me to update the banner. Ciell (talk) 11:06, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, again, @Ciell (also pinging @Vermont just in case). Thanks for offering a solution. Sorry for the delay, we've been discussing and crafting a new banner. In the end, we've decided we would like to follow the structure you suggested, but having this image on the left and this other one (please use the 200x240 pixels resolution as it's lighter, it's the one on the link) on the right. However, I have noticed that, in the preview of your suggestion, the images can look a bit stretched. In order to avoid this and respect the aspect-ratio, the declaration object-fit: contain; must be applied to both img elements. Additionally, if you could make the width responsive by applying the width: min(1000px, 95%); and margin-inline: auto; to the parent element (the element with an id of cnotice-main), the elements inside it would appear closer together in wider screens. I have uploaded two examples to show you what it would look like: here and here. However, if you don't feel comfortable applying the latter, I would understand; but please give priority to making sure the aspect-ratio of the images is adequate. I will be paying attention to notifications throughout the day so please let me know through ping if you need any additional feedback or help. Nacaru · Talk ✉ 15:03, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Nacaru please check the preview again, I think this is the best I can do for today: [18]. Ciell (talk) 18:31, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Ciell, that's good! aspect-ratio is definitely preserved. I think we can launch it like that. Nacaru · Talk ✉ 18:36, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It helps to have square images as well. ;-)
Great, let me set up the campaign now. Ciell (talk) 18:46, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Nacaru the campaign for logged in users is now here, and the banner code is here btw. I am trying to be mindful that, according to the Banner calendar (please add your campaign there!), the annual fundraiser banners will go live in Spain in three days, and there is a community survey banner up for Mexico in the same period as you are requesting. The logged in campaign will show 5 times/3 days, a separate campaign for not-logged in users will show 2 times/5 days. The latter has Spain included for now, but I'll need to remove that somewhere this weekend to allow room for the fundraiser banner, as fundraiser banners have priority.
Please check, and if all is okay, I can enable them both to go live at midnight UTC. Ciell (talk) 19:14, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Ciell! I worked on the first banner along with @Nacaru and I have a couple questions. In which countries will our banner be shown? And would it be possible to show it during the whole month of June? That's the period our contest will be active. Thank you for your time and help with the whole process! ElleAnónime (talk) 19:23, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @ElleAnónime, you can see in the campaigns I have linked in my comment above which countries they will target (campaign=technical settings, banner=visual presentation). The banner for logged-in is world-wide, for all logged-in users that visit Wikipedia and have Spanish as their preferred language setting. The second one for anon/not logged-in users is only shown to visitors from the Ibero-American countries (the way they are mentioned in the details from this request, way in the top of this page), who visit Wikipedia and have Spanish as their preferred language setting.
As to your second question, stretching the banner period to the end of June: I think yes for the logged-in banner, I would not like to do this with the anon-banner. We need this banner space to be empty more often, to have a good effect of our fundraiser banners (also see: en:Banner blindness).
Does that make sense to you? Ciell (talk) 19:37, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for taking the time to explain it!! This is the very first time we've done something like this. Showing it until the end of June just for logged-in users would be great, thank you!! ElleAnónime (talk) 20:08, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Always happy to help!!
I just need a final sign off on the campaign and banner from @Nacaru or @LuisCG11 to enable the banners. I am going offline soon, and otherwise will check back when I wake up tomorrow. Ciell (talk) 20:37, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Ciell!, thank you very much for your work, I appreciate and approve the procedure and the agreed design that has been presented. best! LuisCG11 (talk) 22:10, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
┌─────────────────────────────────┘

I too agree that it can be launched until the end of June for logged in users and up to the 15th for the rest, and the banner design looks okay to me too! Thanks a lot for all your work, Ciell. Nacaru · Talk ✉ 23:27, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We'd like to continue the campaign from last year (request). The banner will only be running for two days before the first Wednesday of each month, and will be targeted to users with less than 100 edits. Jon Harald Søby (WMNO) (talk) 08:24, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@DerHexer you handled this last year right? Do you have time to coordinate again? Ciell (talk) 18:51, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, Jon organized it himself. I hope that he will do it for this year again. ;) And as far as I know, they want to reuse the campaign of last year. —DerHexer (Talk) 19:13, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, missed these messages. Yes, I can handle it myself. :-) Jon Harald Søby (WMNO) (talk) 15:33, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
