The Onion have offered us free advertising space for 1 September, 2005 to celebrate their new look. Sean Mills, President of The Onion wrote "I wanted to reach out and let you know that everyone here at The Onion loves Wikipedia and everything your site(s) offers. We're on the verge of launching a new site tomorrow and are expecting a surge in web traffic to go along with it. Knowing that you are in the midst of a fundraiser, we'd love to help. If you have any standard ad sizes that direct to the donation page, we'd be happy to run them at no cost. Just our way of saying thanks for existing." The ad will link to Wikimedia:Wikimedia needs your help.
