Afrikaans Wikipedia celebrated its 20th birthday on the 16th November 2021. To mark the occasion Wikimedia South Africa hosted a celebration for the Afrikaans Wikipedia editing community. The event included discussions on the growth of the Wiki over the years, challenges the Wiki faces, and possible solutions to continue the growth of the Wiki and its community. The event coincided with the publication of the 101,000th article on Afrikaans Wikipedia.
