The purpose of this meet-up and training workshop is to raise awareness about Wikipedia and its sister projects, particularly Wikimedia Commons in and among females who are interested to explore the dynamics of open knowledge and contribute to the movement's growth in India. Participants will learn about several Wikimedia projects, and equip themselves with the basics and semi-advanced nuances of editing Wikipedia articles and contributing media to Wikimedia Commons alongside understanding how licensing works on the project. The aim is to encourage more females to join open knowledge platforms and become active contributors, and help reduce the gender gap and developing the female leadership within Indian Wikimedia ecosystem
