Contributor
From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki
A contributor is neither a vandal nor a sysop nor a troll. No doubt vandals think they are contributing excitement or amusement, sysops think they are contributing order, and trolls think they are contributing feedback or useful dissent. However, all of these claims are controversial. What is clear is that all three of them willingly feed the Wikipedia Vicious Cycle that drives contributors out.
Question: Should a sysop be allowed to remain a contributor, writing articles as well as governing the process of writing articles? Is this a conflict of interest?
Less controversially, should a sysop be allowed to protect a page and then edit it (other than simple restoring)? Does this constitute an abuse of power?
