In 2023, Egypt Wikimedians User Group didn't receive any funds (at any type) from WMF, so all our activities are little last year, But we took advantage of this period in the process of reorganizing the group:

  3. Organizing the user group's pages on Meta.

  • We have concluded a partnership with Assiut University and the German University in Cairo, which will be implemented in 2024.
  • We partnered with The Egyptian National Library and Archives and Maadi Public Library for GLAM projects and activities
  • We have agreed with the (Arab Digital Expression Foundation) to become a Fiscal and legal sponsor for the user group.

Challenges[edit]

Certainly cutting off grants from Egypt has had a negative impact on our activity in recent years. We are no longer able to carry out any activities that require expenses. The group also needs to employ a number of people to carry out administrative work. We also need equipment, devices, and many tools.

Conclusion[edit]

We hope that during 2024 we will succeed in obtaining an annual grant from General Support Fund. The group has taken many steps to rearrange and organize the group and we hope that these efforts will contribute to revitalizing the group and achieving many goals during the year 2024.
