Goals[edit]

The edit number goal for the project was not meet due to the vandalism that happened during the #1Lib1Ref campaign. Editors were instructed to stop editing as they need further training as new editors to understand how to contribute better to Wikipedia.

Outcome[edit]

Please report on your original project targets. Please be sure to review and provide metrics required for Rapid Grants.

The target goal (numbers of articles edited) were not meet due to vandalism that occurred during the campaign from editors. The Wikimedia User Group Nigeria addressed that all edits on the #1Lib1Ref campaign should be stopped to avert further vandals. 80 articles is targeted to be created or improved. We have 17 articles improved.

Learning[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

The grant came in on time which help us to plan well, we put all necessary things in place.

  • What did not work so well?

The vandalism that happened which make us stop editors from contributing to the campaign. Getting only 10 new editors as against proposed 20. IP blocks during the training affected up to 5 new editors which weigh them.

  • What would you do differently next time?

Creating more awareness through departments WhatsApp groups. Fixing a time that doesn't fall with other events (academic or non-academic) on campus to allow more participants.
