Goals[edit]

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?

  • Yes, Our goals were met been the first time Wikimedia Foundation is getting to be heard by some persons. This brought about anticipation for more of such campaign with the student, the students were excited to be part of such Training and even the edit a thon. Looking forward to having another Campaign With them to broaden their knowledge about Wikimedia and its sisters project.

Outcome[edit]

Please report on your original project targets. Please be sure to review and provide metrics required for Rapid Grants.

Learning[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

Well The publicity worked well for us, a first time campaign admist the students, the atmosphere was ok as there was no rain, the food also was well and the training went well, it was a lengthy one so that at least they could get what Wikimedian foundation is offering and how again they can contribute to the impact of the Awareness campaign. Articles on Oro and Kwara state were touched all through the edit a thon. Oro Kwara state was created on wikipedia by a new editor [2]

  • What did not work so well?

1. There was no light all through the training but the editors were able to navigate through the training since they came with their phones and the two team members came with their fully charged systems and power bank so as to help with anyone with a flat battery.

2. Again because of hike in price of many things in nigeria allows us to spend more on the accessories and even on our participants for their Transportation fare.

3. Some participants left before the end of training, and also before we took general picture after the event, although they were given their food.

  • What would you do differently next time?

1. Ensure to work on publicity the more for a campaign that is been held for the first time in a location.

2. Find a better location that has access to a constant electricity supply that is less costly.
