  • This proposal is focused on translating articles on Nigerian Local Governments from English to Igbo Wikipedia. It is also aimed at creating awareness of Wikimedia projects within my community, recruiting and training new Editors (in-person and online training), improve the skills of existing Editors and adding/improving content on Wikipedia. Target number of new Editors is 10 while existing Editors is targeted at 5, total expected participants is 15. Email Contact details of contact person is nk.abasili@unizik.edu.ng

  • There will be a 1-day training session which is hybrid (online and in-person). Start date is 15th June 2022, End date is 18th June 2022.

Participants will use their Android phones while I will provide laptops for those who do not have Android phones. I will also build their skills via training and use of presentation slides.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

Giving them lists of articles to translate and edit on Wikipedia while monitoring their activities on dashboard.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Impact[edit]

How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets:

  1. Number of events 1
  2. Number of participants 15
  3. Number of new editors 10
  4. Number of of articles created or improved at least 60 articles
  5. Number of repeat participants (for projects that include a series of events)

How do you plan to track your project metrics?

  1. By creating a dashboard through which I will track the project metrics.

Resources I have are presentation slides and videos. It is an individual project organised by the applicant User:Kingsley Nkem with no support from anywhere else
