LET US OPEN THE KNOWLEDGE WITH #1LIB1REF:THE ANAMBRA NETWORK SPACE
Goals[edit]
Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?
Yes. We met our goals and we are happy with activity with its outputs and results. This is the first time Wikimedia Anambra Network embarked on #1Lib1Ref and it came out successfully. There was active participaation with lessons learned.
Outcome[edit]
Please report on your original project targets. Please be sure to review and provide metrics required for Rapid Grants.
Target outcome | Achieved outcome | Explanation |
25 participants | 30 | We reached our goal of organizing a physical Training and the follow up online activities; also on the number of participants, edits and references. |
100 articles/improved/edits words to be added | 175 added | Our target was reached because the knowledge was shared and assimilated |
To add references to articles | 113 references added | The main focus of 1Lib1Ref was understood and adhered to. |
We expected to have (10) new participants | (5) participants joined us. | Although, many of them are new but they have done very few edits and rarely came out. |
Number of words added | 5.16K added | This was due to the number of edits which was also the focus of 1Lib1Ref. It was achieved, adding more authentic and accurate information to the articles |
Learning[edit]
Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
The training on open knowledge worked very well. The participants were attentive and followed the guidelines. Demonstrations were carried out on the training ground with questions and answers.
- What did not work so well?
The inability to get up to 10 new editors. Again, we experienced user names blocks during the activity which dampened some participants minds.
- What would you do differently next time?
Finding a balance at the period of fixing events to allow more participants in attending.
