Briefly summarize your project proposal.

  • Due to the absence of quality images on wikimedia commons, and there's no Photowalk has ever been made to Rano and Karaye, there are no quality images in Commons from the Rano And Karaye which they are the most important Emirates in Hausa. I plan to lead this program which will take pictures of part of Rano and Karaye and uploaded to Commons.

The project will also improve Wikipedia Articles with photos. This topic is very important and useful for Wikimedia projects. See more details about Karaye and Rano

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

I will organise a two days walks with three people on each, to take some part Rano And Karaye Community. Like:
  1. Challawa Gorge Dam(Challawa River)
  2. Kano River
  3. National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
  4. Rano Emirate Place
  5. Karaye Emirate Place

And others notable buildings, roads, Market, around the Rano and Karaye communities.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

I will let them know via our Wikimedia User Group Nigeria Discussion Page, WhatsApp Group for Kano Wikimedians, and I will also let them know via our Hausa Community WhatsApp, Telegram Groups, and Hausa Wikipedia Discussion Page.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

Mostly they will know online via WhatsApp Groups and Phone Call

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

I will rent Canon Camera for me and one of the participant is already photographer, he have his own Camera and he will teach other participants the skills of taking photos.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

I will continue engaging them via our WhatsApp Group

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Yes, in this project we will take pictures of Rano and Karaye areas and upload to Commons. It also improve Rani and Karaye related English, Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa Wikipedia Articles and Wikidata Items and other Wikipedia's language.

How do you plan to track your project metrics? We will create new category which we will use during the upload quality images on wikimedia Commons.

I User:M Bash Ne lead the project with help of User:Maliky and two facilitators.

  1. Accommodation for I organizer and 3 facilitators 2, 10,000×4×2=80,000 this for hotel for organizer and 3 Facilitators
  2. Transportation of organizer and 3 facilitators- 2, 2,000 ×4×2=16,000 this for organizer and facilitators transportation from their place to Rano and Karaye, and go back after finished the project
  3. T-Shirts for Facilitators 2500 × 4 = 10,000
  4. Rent Canon Camera- 5,000×2=10,000 this for rent Canon Camera for me
  5. Food and Refreshments - 1,500×4×2=12,000 this for organizer and facilitators Refreshments two days
  6. Transportation- 15,000×4×2trips=12,000 this for trips transportation (local transportation)
  7. Data Subscription -10'000
  8. Contingency- 10,000
