We are planning one edit-a-thon

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

It has also been announced at the Wiki Hub Enugu State WhatsApp group platform

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

The edit-a-thon project will be announced on social media platforms such as Special Educators WhatsApp group platform, University of Nigeria Staff Telegram and WhatsApp platforms and University of Nigeria, Nsukka, (UNN) Wikipedia Community platform. Furthermore, One-on-one information delivery, phone calls, handbills and messaging Apps will be utilized.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.
For example: User:Kaizenify

Yes, we have experienced Wikipedia editors to help us. User: Ngozi osadebe, User: Ezimoo, User: Beatrice Ewa and myself, User: Liziana Onuigbo are available to anchor the program. These Wikipedia editors have facilitated several Wikipedia edit-a-thon workshops in the University since 2017.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high-quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Yes, the participants have the equipment and skills needed to contribute high-quality content. Many of the participants have personal laptops. There are several laptops at the University Special Needs library which can be used by participants also. The university internet connection and electricity supply is available for our use. However, there will be the need to procure internet data for the library MTNHyper flex router and diesel for the university generator as a precaution against outages.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

A WhatsApp group will be opened during the program where the participants will be free to share their experiences after the event. Intermittently, a face-to-face interaction will be arranged for the participants.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

People with Special needs are part of the society, as such need to be included in all societal affairs.

I will want to find out if undergraduate students in the faculty of Education can participate? in subsequent programs.

What resources do you have? Include information on who is organizing the project, what they will do, and if you will receive support from anywhere else (in-kind donations or additional funding).

The participants have personal laptops. There are also laptops with reading software in the University Special Needs Library that participants without laptops can use. The university internet connectivity and electricity are also available. Moreover, the Special needs library has a projector and Public Address Systems, earphones and recorders. I, User: Liziana Onuigbo, will organize the project. I will arrange the venue, procure diesel for the standby generator, and mobilize special educators and lecturers in the Faculty of Education to participate in the program. I will hire a caterer that will provide food for the participants.
There is no resource from anywhere else for this program.
