After the Wikibooks Nigeria campaign that was held last year. And the impact the Need for a 2.0.This second edition can not be overstated. This is to expand the scope of the project below was the objective of the campaign last year.
This project is targeted at laying a solid foundation for the widespread use and adoption of wikibooks among editors in Nigeria and also bridging the content gap about Nigeria local indigenous cultures,arts and cuisines which contains little to no content on wikibooks and thus enhacing the need for this areas to be greatly improved.
Through this project we hope to engage and train new and existing wikimedia editors to enable them become experienced wikibooks editor,acquire basic editing and researching skills that will enable them create new articles and improve existing articles about Nigeria's indigenous culture's and local cuisines on wikibooks

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

one physical, one virtual training and Edit a thon contest

During the first edition of wikibooks Nigeria, we only held a physical event at the beginning of the contest and campaign. We are going to be adding a virtual training session for the second edition as this will also help the team to follow up with the progress of each participant

The physical training will be target at training the participants about contributing to the different aspects of wikibooks and how to improve articles.

The virtual training will be to provide support and help for participants that faces challenges during edit a thon and also online training for participants who couldn’t join the physical training session.

Edit a thon contest: this is for the participants to contribute to wikibooks after the training and top participants will be awarded prizes for actively contributing.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

To inform both new and existing Wikimedian editors we will sharing and distributing E flyers to the designated platform of target participants as this will serve as a forum to generate interest in the event, this will also offer a comprehensive way to reach our target audience. Additionally this will enable us create a Whatsapp group for whose generate interest in the upcoming event. Adequate information will be passed through the created whatsapp group to inform, remind and give regular updates about the commencement of the event

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Yes the participants have the required skills and equipment which includes,Mobile phones and laptops to enable them make and contribute effectively and efficiently on Wikibooks.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

After the Event: we will be working to ensure sustainability of the participants by having them join as community members of Wikimedia User Group Nigeria as this will keep them posted and foster participation in other and wiki events.Additionally,participants will be added to our existing whatsapp group for follow up and ongoing support.we will conduct a post event survey to identify areas for improvement.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

The second edition of the wikibooks Nigeria is aimed at improving on what was done during the last edition, improving them and giving a better and improved result from the first edition.

We are committed to creating a safe,supportive and equitable environment for all participants.We will adhere strictly to promote the Wikimedia UCOC and friendly space policy.

[[User:Kingaustin07(Project Lead):I am an experienced Wikimedian editor and trainer,also a wikibooks reviewer with an extensive capacity and experience to lead this project for the second edition after successful leading the first edition.I have participated and won online wikibooks contest and other wikipedia online campaign activities and edit a thon which includes, Nigerian cuisine,African cuisine,Nigerian expenditure etc.

User:Sylvesterchukwu04(Communication and logistics):He is an experienced editor and trainer on wikipedia. He co facilitated and trained editors during wikivoyage for Lagos State Local Government Offices and Secretariat's,Harnessing the Power of Open Data 2023. He has participated and won series of Wikimedian contest awhich inc ludes Nigerian Cuisine whose project focus was on wikibooks, Nigerian musuem amongst others. He will be providing his volunteer support to co-facilitate this event.
