  • This project is targeted at bridging the content gap about the Lagos State local government offices and Secretariat's and their location on wikivoyage. From my research only few lagos state local government offices and Secretariat's location are documented on wikivoyage and as such the need for this area to be greatly improved.
  • Through this project we hope to engage new and existing Wikimedian editors to enable them acquire digital and researching skills that would enable them to contribute massively by creating and improving existing wikivoyage articles about lagos State local government offices and Secretariat's and their respective location.

  2. Add and improve existing articles about lagos state local government offices and Secretariat's on wikivoyage
  3. To equip and enable participants and existing editors acquire basic editing and researching skills on wikivoyage

I will be having 1 training and edit a thon which is a physical training followed by a contest

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

The target participants are students and youths and existing lagos Wikimedian editors
Before the event adequate information will be passed through the various social media platforms of youths and students as well as Lagos Wikimedian editors to inform, remind and give regular updates about the commencement of the event.E flyers will be distributed and shared across the various designated social media platforms

Yes the participants have the required equipment which are Mobile phones and laptops to enable them contribute and make impactful edits

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

To ensure sustainability, New participants will Join as members of the Wikimedia User group Nigeria,as this will keep them updated and encourage participation during other wiki projects.Participants will be added to existing messaging channels for follow up and questions. This participants will be invited for upcoming and future projects.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

The content of this project will help prioritize bridging the content gap by creating and Improving articles about Lagos State Local Government Offices and Secretariat's and their location documenting them on Wikivoyage and by promoting knowledge equity aligned with the Wikimedia movement strategies because it will immensely increase the range of free knowledge content on Wikivoyage that would stay relevant in our changing world.

What resources do you have? Include information on who is organizing the project, what they will do, and if you will receive support from anywhere else (in-kind donations or additional funding).

The resources I have are my volunteer and experienced wikivoyage editors they will be supporting me for the success of this project
  1. Sylvesterchukwu04(Project lead and organizer) : I am experienced editor on wikivoyage with an impressive edit count.I will be in charge of facilitating the physical training
  2. Kingaustin07(Online facilitator) : He is an experienced editor on wikivoyage.He will be assisting us in this project by providing his technical support under volunteer capacity as the anchor of the online training sessions
  3. Favkinstin27( Communication and Logistics): He is an experienced editor on wikivoyage .He will be in charge of creating wikipedian account for new editors and also passing vital information about the events to the designated social media platforms

  • Refreshments ( participants and facilitators) : (2500*15) ₦37,500
  • prizes for top 5 contributors: ( 4000*5) ₦20,000
  • Contingency and miscellaneous: ₦6,500
  • TOTAL : ₦120,000
