Report accepted[edit]

Hi I_JethroBT, Soni and Gabrielm199,

Thank you for submitting this exceptionally thorough and lovely report. I’m accepting it today and providing some comments below:

  • Huge congratulations on completing this project and submitting a tremendously clear and thoughtful report on your accomplishments and learnings. It’s obvious how much work you’ve put into it!
  • You’ve done a great job of sharing your outputs and outcomes as well as your process--it’s great to see that you’ve shared some early drafts. Thank you for including the links to everything created for this project along the way--and for including highlights from the poll quotes. It helps us really understand what happened and what the community might want to do in the future.
  • Great design on your barnstars!
  • The research you’ve done on the help space landscape of English Wikipedia is invaluable. Though that research is only a small component of the project, what you learned and published about the overall landscape is really useful. We deeply appreciate that you documented those findings so thoroughly for the broader community to think about.
  • Congratulations on your success in significantly tightening up the mentee waiting time. Reducing the wait-time from days to hours is a huge accomplishment--especially in the context of the internet, where people don’t tend to come back days later.
  • Thank you for sharing about what you learned about what didn’t work. You’re very clear in your recommendations about what could be done in the future--really nicely documented.
  • Your recommendation that mentees meet a minimum threshold of experience before engaging in mentorship, as a means of improving attrition rates, is very interesting. Do you see opportunities for follow-up there?
  • Budget tracking: Please go ahead and update the “Actual Funds Spent” column in your Finances tab to match the information included in your report.

Congratulations on your achievements in this project. I’m pinging Jtud (WMF) to confirm that documentation of expenses is complete before marking this grant as completed.

Hi Soni, Gabrielm199 and @I JethroBT: Although most the expenses on this grant appear to allowances for the grantees' time spent working on the project, receipts for the Programmer $600 and Graphic designer for $4335 have not yet been submitted to WMF. Please send the documentation for these expenditures to grantsadmin(_AT_)wikimedia.org. -- Thank you, Jtud (WMF) (talk) 23:08, 13 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Jtud (WMF): Documentation in the form of annotated PDFs for these expenses were sent on 29 April 2015 to grantsadmin(_AT_)wikimedia.org under the subject line "Documentation of IEG Expenses Paid". I have just now resent this documentation. I JethroBT (talk) 03:42, 14 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Project completed[edit]

@I JethroBT: Thank you for resending the receipts, Chris. I'm not sure what happened, but your first email did not make it to my inbox. Anyway, I confirm that we have received them now, and your grant is completed. -- Best, Jtud (WMF) (talk) 16:56, 14 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
