Explain your plan[edit]

Shared Knowledge, user group that is working under Simple APG programm since 2014, and in negotiations to become Wikimedia Macedonia this year, started wide programs for education and teaching Wikipedia in Macedonia. Along with our new employee and our Executive Board (that I`m part since founding of our organization) successfully made new collaboration with private university, along with two educational programs in one high school in Skopje and on Faculty of Economics of Skopje University. Additionally, our new employee started volunteer-a-thons, a new way of recruiting volunteers, where on informal meetings they sit down, and try to edit Wikipedia. First such meeting has already been done, but we hope that this will be one kind of a tradition, where new people constantly come into our rented office in SEAVUS Center to try editing Wikipedia. Also, in June we plan to organize our first WikiCamp in remote part of Macedonia, where we plan to combine our most successful project Wikiexpeditions with finding new volunteers on the way, where participants during the day will have a expeditionary tasks to find churches around the villages, or some other building, and later together to write article about that building, to upload images on Commons.

Therefore, we would like to ask for 1 laptop. Together with two laptops of our employees as office equipment, we think that would enable to organize more efficient all of these activities during the year.

Impact[edit]

  • We receive laptop in August 2017, sent to me and our organization by Asaf through our participants on Wikimania in Canada. As I mentioned already in my explanation why we will need additional laptop, first usage of donated laptop from Wikimedia Foundation was on our first WikiCamp in the village Brajcino, near shores of Prespa Lake. This happen already in September 2017. After that, we continue to use this laptop on regular basis on our edit-a-thons and also, my colleagues Ivan and Mario, starting new project WikiSketch, explaining what is Wikipedia and teaching individuals to create one article in one hour or less, they use it a lot this laptop. In conclusion, receiving this laptop gave us (to Shared Knowledge) an additional opportunity to offer another laptop to some new member who has a will to participate on organized event by us, but does not own laptop by themselves. You can track usage of this laptop through our monthly activities on this page.--Ehrlich91 (talk) 17:58, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
