Proposals for closing projects/Closure of Simple English Wikipedia
Appearance
The result of the following proposal for closing a WMF project is to KEEP the project. Please, do not modify this page.
I'm closing this, as the original nominator has withdrawn the proposal and there's been absolutely no support for its closure. EVula // talk // ☯ // 15:03, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Simple english isn't a language so it is impossible to have a wikipedia in a language that doesn't exist.--Z 15:18, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
I changed my mind and don't want it closed anymore. I won't object to having the discussion closed. --Z 22:51, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Oppose
- Oppose - No Way!!.. that Wiki has over 20,000 reliable good edit articles which are simple and easy to understand and its for those people whose understanding of the English Language is minimal or none. This Project will and should continue for years to come ..--Cometstyles 15:26, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose This nomination seems to stem from the nominator's dislike of the "Simple English" concept, rather than a legitimate concern over the content itself. As Cometstyles noted, the project is plenty active. EVula // talk // 21:25, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- I have edited the Simple English wikipedia and wikiquote --Z 23:07, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- A fact that does little to convince me I'm wrong; your nominating statement is severely wanting. EVula // talk // 23:21, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

- Taenge This really is ridiculous. Just Keep it. Active + content = Wikipedia, even if the language doesn't exist (that's what I find) It's useful for people who don't understand/speak/etc English very well. --OosWesThoesBes 06:51, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose per EVula and Comet. --Smeira 00:17, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
