Goals[edit]
Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?
Yes we did. During the Wiki Loves Africa 2024, the Imo State Network thrived under the theme "Africa creates." Throughout the event, our network embarked on a journey to discover local crafts prevalent in both urban and rural parts of Imo State. We found that basket making, broom making, and fufu processing are predominantly found in rural areas, while furniture making, cloth making, and other crafts thrive in urban settings. Our exploration unfolded through a general photowalk to four locations: Marble and Granite Muniment Center, Aba Road; Furniture Center at Orji; A Cobbler at Amawire, Owerri; and Smoke fish Farm at Aladinma, Owerri. From these excursions and the individual photowalks of our participants, we gathered a wealth of insights. In total, 181 pictures were uploaded to commons, showcasing the diversity of Imo State's crafts. Additionally, 14 participants actively engaged in the event, with the welcoming addition of 2 new editors to our community.

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
What worked well during Wiki Loves Africa 2024 for the Imo State Network was our focused exploration under the theme "Africa creates." We effectively delved into the local crafts across urban and rural areas, highlighting the distinctiveness of each setting. The genera and individual l photowalk provided a comprehensive overview of Imo State's crafts. The result was the upload of 181 images to commons, effectively showcasing the breadth of crafts in Imo State. Moreover, the active participation of 14 individuals, including 2 new editors, demonstrated the event's success in engaging and expanding our community.
- What did not work so well?
The delay with the proposal review and funding affected our community planning, communication and engagement as a result this costed the campaign to run for one month and 13 days as opposed to one month which was specified on the proposal.
- What would you do differently next time?
Secure timely funding to enable us have early preparation prior to proposal start/launch date
