This language has been verified as eligible. The language is eligible for a project, which means that the subdomain can be created once there is an active community and a localized interface, as described in the language proposal policy. You can discuss the creation of this language project on this page. Once the criteria are met, the language committee can proceed with the approval. If you think the criteria are met, but the project is still waiting for approval, feel free to notify the committee and ask them to consider its approval. |
- The community needs to develop an active test project; it must remain active until approval (automated statistics, recent changes). It is generally considered active if the analysis lists at least three active, not-grayed-out editors listed in the sections for the previous few months.
- The community needs to complete required MediaWiki interface translations in that language (about localization, translatewiki, check completion).
- The community needs to discuss and complete the settings table below:

Proposal
[edit]- Number of speakers: about 500 thousand
- Locations spoken: Russia: Bashkortostan, Buguruslan, Chuvashia, Mordovia, Penza, Samara, Tatarstan, Temnikov, Ulyanovsk; Armenia; Azerbaijan; Estonia; Kazakhstan; Kyrgyzstan; Ukraine; Turkmenistan; Uzbekistan.
- This is a national language in Mordovia.
- The publication of dictionaries, as is the case with many other books of all genres are limited about 1000 per printing. This media would make it possible to provide a large readership with several aspects of the written language, i.e. orthographical variation, neologisms, older less-used words, synonymy, etymology, etc.
Discussion
[edit]Arguments in favour
[edit]- Support In 2002 the renowned Erzya writer Kuz'ma Abramov published the first Erzya-language dictionary "Валонь ёвтнема валкс" with well over six thousand entries. The manuscript materials from this dictionary have been granted as an open-axis basis for this type of project. Thanks. Rueter 07:03, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- SupportHi! like a native speaker will give voice to create. It will be a qualitative development of the Erzya language in the Internet - it is necessary for pupils, students, and those who want to teach Erzya language. I will help in the development of this project. I think that apart from the dictionary Abramov's, you can use and other open sources, for example the book "Syrnen chovolyat Eugene Chetvergov.
