Talk:Executive Director

Question added belatedly, moved here because not directly about the Executive Director appointment:

Does Jimmy Wales still retain "final say" in Wikimedia projects?

Jimbo and the Board of Trustees are in charge of the Wikimedia Foundation, its goals and direction. In that sense, yes, but they generally do not interfere in content questions as a final authority to settle disputes, only when the goals of the organization are implicated. --Michael Snow 05:14, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Sorry if it was a bit misplaced, but thank you for answering. Is it fair to say that Jimmy is president of the Foundation? Or is president synonymous with executive director? Thanks, GChriss 19:49, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
I don't believe the two are considered synonymous. Jimmy has previously been given the title of President, so I assume he continues to have that position. --Michael Snow 04:39, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
