原文が難しい (issue1: terms 要素＝用語)

@Ciell: English hereinafter. 運動憲章の英文が難しい点はどこか。少し間口を広げ、メタの記事を翻訳していてしんどいのは、新語がどんどん出てくるのに公式用語集がない点。新企画だから用語も新しくて当然といえば当然だけれど、その種を蒔いた古い企画すら日本語訳がないなら、せめて新語の原語綴りがわかると、経緯を辿ったり全体像を掴んだりできるかもしれません。

そこで苦肉の策で、翻訳文中に例のように、訳注を設けて、原語と訳語を対照しています。本来、これは「改ざん」に限りなく近い行為であり、手を出さないよう自戒しています。（ウィキペディアなどなら「注釈」を用いる方法もあるものの、メタで脚注を作る是非は別の機会に）。

しかしながら実用を取るなら、わからない内容をわからない用語で訳したふりをし、「これを読んで競技に参加してください」とは申せず、罪の軽重を言い訳にしてこの方法を続けています。

運動憲章のように更新に気を使う文書で、内部の用語集がないとは思えません。更新の作業を委員がしていて、それを職員や理事が後で読むわけですから、用語の理解がずれては作業が無駄になります。前提として、運動戦略の翻訳をあげておきます。キッカケと動く人に恵まれ、財団の担当部署内部の用語集を開示してもらい、多言語化（※1）できました（末尾の一覧ご参照）。用語集があるとないとでは、翻訳に手を出すか出さないか、動機づけが大きく異なります。用語の意味をお互いに分け合わずに、私たちは2030年、同じ水平線に立てるのでしょうか。

皆さん、ここの表現、何か変だぞと感じた場合は、原語を手がかりにいきさつや何とつながっているか探してくださるよう、お願いします。ウィキペディアと異なり、日本語翻訳ページ末のカテゴリは赤リンクも多く、随意に辿ることができない場合が多くてご不便をおかけします。

Terms in en are often times the only key for non-en readers

Hi, can you refer to an [example m;Movement_Charter/Drafting_Committee/Updates/ja, diff=23864871&oldid=23864867. Terms in en are often times the only key for non-en readers, when they don't follow the context of a new idea, then a keyword is needed to search and try find the background of new ideas. Then, as far as we don't bind m:Movement_Charter/Terminology in multiple languages in time for/running along when NEW concept/idea like Movement Charter is presented for public discussion. How can we ja community try and expand our knowledge, if I offer those metawiki terms ONLY in ja? Unfortunatelly, ja terms are not very effective searching stick at the moment, and I don't doubt it will not par with en terms.

alteration or not

I am fully aware if I add/delete to the original writing in en, it is alteration/or is_quite_close_to it. The original writer did not mean/care to write about matching terminology en/ja/any non-en language. It is actually my last resort translating many pages on meta, esp those related to our new horizon towards 2030. Are we looking at the same horizon, if we don't share what each term enbodies (?_?) If I were translating on ja-Wikipedia, I surely use "Notes", but on Metawiki, we are not making those, are we?

categories are not useful

As a ja-Wikipedia reader, I enjoy using the category at the page bottom, which will take me to pages related, far or near, a chance for expanding knowledge or reader's adventure. That is sadly, not the dase on Metawiki. Categories are left as red-links, dead end.

What do you think? Don't you create a list of terms when you proofread/update an universal document as Movement Charity? As with the case of Movement Strategy and its terms, can internal list of that sort made public, so that global translation would be encouraged? You know, wiki-jargons can be a test sheet if you are insider or not, and it truly becomes inclusive to present/share ideas, just look how many language communities offered input on the Termbase for our Strategy (listed below).

Please, I don't wish to eat hot dish with my fingers, terminology list aka fork and knife please (;
