From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

At first glance, this seems like a utopian and completely unrealistic approach for Wikipedia. Is it possible to build a small-scale prototype as a "proof of concept" (for example within the domain of history of Islam) and to show how it solves any of the problems it addresses? I doubt so. But I think a working, small-scale prototype is a necessary step before this approach can be considered for Wikipedia. --LA2 13:40, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Having a prototype is a good idea before integration (or at least deep) integration with Wikipedia. A citation database could in the beginning simply function as just another resource for editors. This would allow time for it develop. I will add a milestone/timeline section for this project soon where we can outline these steps toward integration. Jleybov 19:43, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
