If it means having subchapters, then Aye. Schools are covered by this as well, as was the original intent of having subchapters, right? --Sky Harbor, April 18, 2012, 10:26 UTC

Technically I was avoiding using "subchapters" as they may assert autonomy from us. Being a community would likely be a safer term to recognize that they exist to promote in their areas. I am still crafting one for schools, I rather not refer to them as community but Wikipedia student organizations. --Namayan, April 18, 2012, 10:30 UTC

In principle I agree with the resolution.

However, I'd like to raise a couple of points (sorry for the delayed feedback):

1. Who is the "Projects Manager"? If this is the chair of the PMC, then this should be made clear.

2. Regarding funding. It seems that Community projects can only be sourced via the annual budget or via the micro-grants system. Can't it be possible to fund the projects via a direct grant from the Foundation/FDC with the support of WMPH (e.g., help in writing a grant request)? --seav, April 18, 2012, 10:46 UTC

1. Yes the PMC head is the Projects Manager, just a simplified name.

2. There's no hindrance for them to obtain direct grant from the Foundation, though they will be highly encouraged to do this under our care so as to count their projects among ours after all the aim of the resolution (as embodied in the General Policy) is "to expand the reach of the Chapter in areas outside of its immediate reach." We'll be there to provide them other support system if they pursue projects under our guidance or within the framework of our strategic plan. --Namayan, April 18, 2012, 10:54 UTC

1. I propose using the term "Chair of the Projects Management Committee" (or add a glossary to the resolution).

2. Yes, there's no hindrance, but I suggest explicitly adding this provision to the resolution saying to the effect that Community projects can also seek other sources of funding (WMF/FDC, NCCA, other Foundations, etc.) and that the Chapter can assist as necessary. --seav, April 18, 2012, 10:58 UTC

1. I can just add it in the notes. So as not to change the text anymore, after all the interpretation of our provisions is in the spirit of its intention.

2. We would provide our resources/equipment/logistics and other assistance if they do their projects in line with our strategic plans, I'm envisioning them to be our partners after all they are our members. Other forms of assistance could be done on a personal level, but not at the expense of the chapter anymore, so that need not be explicit. --Namayan, April 18, 2012, 11:14 UTC
