- Brion Vibber is the Wikimedia Foundation's Chief Technical Officer.
- Domas Mituzas is the Foundation's Hardware Officer.
Both are official positions.
Brion will be the first point of contact between the system administrators and developers and the Board and will maintain overall responsibility for all technical functions of the Foundation, including both hardware and software.
The responsibilities of the Hardware Officer include improving contact within and between the system administrators and the Board, and documenting activities that affect the community to ensure people are aware of potential downtime, and notified about the current state of the hardware.
