Autotally [edit]
"I would put notices on the user's talk pages, add a subpage for the comments, and write the prerequisite notices here."
- vote mechanism: user puts vote template on talk, votes are autocategorized, comments are transcluded onto tally page. vote gets completed by user or me or whomever.
- tally page: uses pagesincategory for preliminary results, (sortable) table listing users, votes, comments
- vote templates
{{Global sysops vote|vote=|comment=}}somewhere in userspace
-
-
- Template transcludes appropriate vote category. Comment: cases: 1) none wanted, 2) not yet written, 3) present: display "no comment"+category "uncommented", 2) display redlink to subpage (need preload page)+category:comments not yet transcluded), 3) transclude+category hasvoted
- comment template: fields comment= and affected=, possibly more
-
-
- for dummies: just a plain request template: Global sysops vote Yes/No
- voting instructions
- translations! need help on that one
- conversion of previous votes: attribution by diff(s): old list needs to be checked off edit by edit, tedious but doable
- watching changes to comments is not a problem, just use Related Changes on a list of voters/vote comments
BbdF [edit]
- Basically, we want a table with the following columns: user, vote, comment, proof of vote, proof of eligibility, list of validators of the user's vote.
- users: voting page
- validators: collated raw data, overviews: list of votes, status of votes
- all: tally page
- user list is available at WikiSense, this just needs reformatting and grouping, that should take care of proof of vote
- eligibility is available from sulutil
- D'oh!: http://toolserver.org/~vvv/globalsysopsvoter.php has everything required, just need a list of candidates to start clicking from
