If you've got a good reason why even completely off-topic discussions about mw:VisualEditor really, truly "need" to stay in the middle of a discussion about how to improve Media Viewer, then please feel free to post your rationale on that discussion page. We need to have two separate discussions about Media Viewer: technical changes for people who are actually using it, and procedural changes about deployment. There are good reasons to keep these separate, including the fact that the putting everything on one page makes it too long for some people to be able to participate.
