[edit] Integrity
Back in the epoch of the Nixon Administration, the late John Ehrlichman told John Dean, "To get along, go along."
It was bad advice. Everyone who went along with the Watergate cover-up eventually got their come-uppance.
You're in an interesting position because you are neither an insider nor an outcast.
The insiders don't trust you.
And I think I know why.
It's because you have too much integrity to be drawn into the systemic corruption that is eating the English Wikipedia from the inside out.
But neither do you have quite enough cojones to do what John Dean did: diagnose the cancer on the system and speak the truth to power.
But that's OK. You don't need to do that, as the cancer will manifest itself soon enough without anyone articulating a definitive diagnosis.
However, you'll be needing some tools to clean up the mess after the cancer runs its course.
Come take a look at the Wikiversity Learning Project on the Ethical Management of the English Language Wikipedia.

[edit] Concur
I didn't want to do this myself since I commented on it, but you did the right thing IMO. —Giggy 04:51, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
- As Giggy suggests above, it was the right thing to do. However, I felt compelled to release my age since I had already commented on en.wiki with me stating it was 15, this has now progressed another year and seeing as OTRS handles comments and requests that are sometimes relatively difficult and need responsible responses, my age had to factor in at some point. I can see why you are wholly unimpressed with the situation (I've looked through the past few months history of the volunteering page and it seems nothing like that has arisen, at least not in a long time) and I'm sure it was probably the wrong information to disclose on a public site (with a history viewable by anyone) but really age has not much bearing on the way I conduct my editing. The element of that discussion that I am unimpressed by is the fact that I still 'can't be trusted', 'doubted' and I'm a 'liar'. All of these things I thought would have no effect on the request, given that I've been a good administrator for the past seven months. You know yourself the pressures of commnunity, so I've withdrawn this request for now and may re-apply some time in the future (perhaps in February/March). Rudget. 10:25, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
