Until now, most Wikipedia statistics have dealt either with the growth of the project as a whole or with individual language Wikipedias in relation to each other. This page seeks to group together Wikipedias into "Wikiregions", which are mostly based on geographical borders. The Wikipedias can be divided into the following "Wikiregions":

  • English Wikiregion - a separate Wikiregion due to the size of the English Wikipedia and also because English is such a global language that it doesn't have any geographical boundaries anymore. Wikipedias included: English, Simple English
  • East Asian Wikiregion - includes Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese, Chinese. It doesn't mean each of those languages are linguistically related to another.
  • South Asian Wikiregion -
  • Southeast Asian Wikiregion -
  • Middle Eastern, North African and Central Asian Wikiregion -
  • Central and Southern African Wikiregion -
  • American Wikiregion - English and French are included in the English and Western European wikiregions respectively. South American languages Spanish and Portugese are also included in the Western European Wikiregion. Indigenous languages are not included in the Indigenous American Wikiregion.
  • Indigenous American Wikiregion -
