Contact

[edit]

I assume (most of) active commitees have their internal moderated maillist to which other people can post with the approval of their moderator(s). How do you think each committees' description has their own mailing list on this page? (I found an interesting article on a certain website [1] which special project committee might be interested but I don't know their contact). --Aphaia 08:00, 30 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

The first two certainly don't fall under the definition, while the other two could be considered staff committees. --Nemo 19:07, 1 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Why so? Are they not committees? Or were they not created by the WMF and by the Wikimedia community? In what way would they not be "Wikimedia committees"? Where would the Meta reader looking for information on committees connected with the Wikimedia projects look other than this page, and would it not be likely that the would want to have links to these four committees? What about Grants:Project/Committee, Grants:Conference/Committee, and Grants:APG/Simple/Committee? KCVelaga (talk) 07:55, 14 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Nemo bis: +1 to not understanding why these wouldn't be considered committees. ArchCom (now "TechCom") and the former RCom both have/had charters, and were established by Wikimedia groups. --Yair rand (talk) 20:57, 12 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Update?

[edit]

Seems out of date. As of 2022 I believe there are five committees here (SP was closed) + a sixth Exec Committee consisting of the six Trustees who are chairs of other committees or of the Board overall. –SJ talk  20:35, 10 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Sj: I think you may have intended to post a different link. --Yair rand (talk) 23:17, 10 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
How extraordinary. A revealing error, but what does it reveal? I (and my browser's link-color history) don't recall ever having visited that page... correct link posted. –SJ talk  00:05, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
I've updated and copy-edited the page, needs someone to mark it for translation. dwadieff 17:54, 14 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
