Closure reverted[edit]

This proposal was closed within an hour of being created, without explanation in the edit summaries, reference to the Closing projects policy, or even a courtesy note to the creator [Edit: but with closing Comment in the {{Closing project proposal}} template, which I missed. Rd232 (talk) 17:54, 19 February 2012 (UTC)]. I have reverted this. Your options are[reply]

  1. explain how this proposal contravenes closure policy
  2. ignore the proposal
  3. oppose it without constructive engagement with the points made
  4. constructive engagement with the points made - whether opposing, or supporting or just commenting.

Hum, I see now that the (original) closer, User:SPQRobin, is a member of LangCom, so per Closing_projects_policy#Decision the unexplained closure must be on the basis that the discussion will be "harmful". I'm asking for clarification. Rd232 (talk) 17:31, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I see that the page was deleted, so it isn't possible to read the previous discussion either. --Stefan2 (talk) 17:36, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Which page? The proposal page hasn't been. Rd232 (talk) 17:52, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, this was the talk page – I thought that I was writing on the normal proposal page. Sorry, my mistake: I was just looking at the wrong page. --Stefan2 (talk) 17:59, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Category[edit]

{{editprotected}} Would be nice if an admin could add Category:Rejected proposals for closing projects. --MF-W 13:09, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
