Talk:Requests for new languages/Wikipedia Montenegrin 3

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

According to this edit by WizardOfOz, quote: everyone can add himself.

The reason for the removal of Sideshow Bob is precisely because he did not add himself, but was added by CroForge. --RichardArnolde 19:51, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removed. --WizardOfOz talk 19:53, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much.
Also, can (WizardOfOz or) someone more experienced in the Wikimedia advice me on this one. Can anyone at all add himself and present him or herself as an original proposer into the proposition box, at any given time? --RichardArnolde 19:57, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes everyone can add themselfe if they propose it, why not? Read a sentence above the user names. :) For someone with just few edits on one Wikimedia project, you have a quite expirienced edits and a familiar connection to proposals before (knowlage of personal informations, knowlage about decisions). Is it possible that this is not your first account? --WizardOfOz talk 20:05, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That is odd, what is then the meaning of original in original proposer?
If you are asking whether I have used an account before on the Meta-Wiki before, no, I did not. I am far from a person that forgets passwords and similar pieces of information, and there's no rational need to open another account. I have first been introduced to this not long time before the the first project was rejected, back in 2006. I ran a local offline wiki-based closed encyclopedia in the Montenegrin language for about half a year, in coordination with several other Montenegrin language promotion groups. We were preparing a massive online encyclopedia with tons of articles, ready to be submitted and then turned into the official Montenegrin language wikipedia when it is approved. The pay was very little and the job was quite requiring, despite being mainly voluntary, but it gave me a pretty good image of the whole system, as well as a dedication to thorough study of the entire Meta-Wiki. It's too bad the project was disbanded (very sad memories), although I still believe I've got most of the remains somewhere in the archives on an old hard drive; it might prove useful one day for the real Montenegrin Wikipedia should I ever be able to recover it. But I believe I have already written far, far too much. --RichardArnolde 20:26, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I've already written it; there's no worth crying over spilled milk: It is very likely the cause of my fears is in my personal failure and that of my coworkers at our project. Aside from "normal" everyday fights in which there were a number of historical fights over articles (e.g. WWII with Partisans and collaborators, the 1990s themes, or the "national question"-related issues from pro-Serb POV pushers), the central point was the style of writing. It was horrifying, precisely because of the lack of a written standard. There were people who thought the three characters introduced by Vojislav P. Nikcevic must be introduced, they were attacking those of us who wrote ordinarily, there were accusations of treason, there was as I've already mentioned the situation to be, plainly put, chaos. We disbanded the project on my motion and postponed it indefinitely (i.e. until the standardization of the Montenegrin language is completed). A great hit I'll withstand if the Montenegrin Wikipedia itself turns into that - my worst nightmare. --RichardArnolde 20:35, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
