Geographical diversity[edit]

There doesn't seem to be any formal requirement for geographical diversity -- having the event on a different continent than 2006 or 2005. Should it be? Or maybe an informal requirement? Or should it be explicitly not a requirement? --Evan 00:54, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I do not believe that geographical diversity should be a formal requirement, although of course a bid from any continent other than Europe or North America is more than welcome. One thing is sure, among two equivalent bids, where one is in any of the continents already explored by Wikimania and the other is on a new continent, preference *will* go to the new continent. notafish }<';> 13:41, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
