Template talk:Not an encyclopedia

I think it is nonsense to add it to Main Page.

1. Its Wikipedia-centric feature.

   Why Wikipedia should be so focused? Rather we need to say This is not dictionary, news site, textbook ... from my experience of meta admin we need rather a message "we are not image repository".

2. Redundance.

   Main page has already a description what meta is. And for further info, We have WM:NOT already. And I don't like this template.

3. Design.

   It is not beautiful and moreover, somehow seem to intend to scare people.

The people who get that template are usually contributors who we want to keep as contributors, we don't want to scare them off with ridiculous images, also they should not concentrate on the image but on the text. I see no need for an image. The big orange notification box attracts attention just fine without a generic icon. Please explain the benefits and advantages the image adds to the message. —{admin} Pathoschild 04:25:02, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
