Moresnet: en:Moresnet - 14-0 (Week 9)
[edit]Tiny European mini-state of about 3.5 km² that existed en:1816-en:1919. Nobody seems to know about it.
It is linked to many geographical locations in Europa and historical events (en:Congress of Vienna, en:World War I, en:World War II, etc). The most remarkable initiative was to make Moresnet the world's first en:Esperanto state (more). The ideas of Wikipedia and those of Esperanto are remarkably similar. Pronunciation
[edit]Okay, so how's this one pronounced? I see that some of the transliterations have borrowed the s and the t, but ja: is using ja:モレネ (morene). The only pronunciation I was able to find online was Dutch and listed two pronunciations, one with all the letters pronounced, and one with the s but no t. —Muke Tever 09:14, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)
ca:Muixeranga - 11-0 (Week 8)
[edit]The catalan wikipedia is reaching the 10,000 articles, with one of the highest ratios between no. of articles (9.600 approx.) and no. of speakers (probably less than the alleged 8 million) inside the whole wikipedia project. ca:Muixeranga is one of the oldest traditions of the catalan-speaking people, and its music is like a national anthem for many and represents the struggle for defending our language. The chance that this article could be translated to other languages by usual wiki's growth is small. I can make an English and Spanish version if accepted.--158.42.184.155 20:39, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[edit]I need to know the pronounciation of Pohjola in IPA, and whether h counts in pronouncing the name (so that pronounciation of 'Pojola' and 'Pohjola' would be different,) to decide the page name for Korean Wikipedia. --PuzzletChung 00:25, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- I am not a Finnish speaker but I believe it would be /ˈpohjolɑ/ with the H pronounced (and possibly even voiced?), the stress on the first syllable, and the J like English "y". Try en:Finnish phonetics and en:Finnish language. —Muke Tever 06:55, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
