I am Effeietsanders, commoners' Dutch for For a while something else. I am a third-year bachelor student in chemistry, born in 1987, at the Leiden University in the Netherlands. I live in Westland, a region in the Netherlands, famous for its greenhouses. I like to play waterpolo and to cycle on my bike, although I have too little time for that lately.
Although I spent six years learning Latin, French and English, I only "have" la-0,5 ; fr-1 and en-2. After five years I do also understand some German. This results in the situation that you can try to speak French or German to me, but there is no guarantee that I'll fully understand you, and even less chance that I'll answer you in the same language. Generally speaking, English will have to do.
In February 2005 I joined the Dutch Wikipedia as a registered user, and in July the same year I became a sysop there. In the period following I began to get more and more interested in the international and multiproject character of Wikimedia, and got a little more involved in, for instance, nl.wikisource, commons and nl.wikibooks. Still I spend most of my spare time at nl.wikipedia, where my userpages is also still the best way to contact me. In September 2005 I got more involved with the Vereniging Wikimedia Nederland (VWN) and I was in the founding board of VWN as vice-secretary. In June 2006 I was elected in the board of VWN.
In August 2006 I attended to Wikimania in Cambridge, you can find my report here: /Wikimania 2006, and in 2007 in Taipei. In December 2006 I candidated for steward, and got elected. Shortly after that I was elected as sysop on metawiki as well. In september 2006 I organized the Wikimedia Conference Netherlands in Utrecht. In 2007 I fellow-organized the conference again, this time in Amsterdam.
Thanks to me being steward, you could possibly find me in small Wikis, doing things that can generally only be done by sysops. In those cases, it is safe to assume that I made myself temporarily sysop on that Wiki. If you have questions regarding those actions, don't hesitate to ask me.
You can often find me on Freenode IRC in channels like #wikimedia-stewards and #wikimedia . You could try to locate me under the nicks Eia, Eiaway or Effeietsanders.
