Template RFCs [edit]

Regarding your edit:

Maybe there's a policy page somewhere, buried, that says "Only encyclopedic content should be on encyclopedia pages." I'm sure there's one on English Wikipedia, if only because they have rules and policies for things we would frankly never think of. I'm also sure that either common sense or an appropriate policy page will be found, and someone will point this out.

You're all probably annoyed that we outsiders (the Foundation and its volunteers) have come in and told you that certain things aren't allowable on that project. While it's pretty much common sense that you should try to follow the rules and directives set down by the folks who pay the bills and own the machines you're using, I really don't feel like fighting an uphill battle any longer about this.

Honestly, I'm tired. Neither side wants to make concessions in the compromise. It seems pretty clear from the discussion on the foundation-l mailing list and the chatter on the RFC page that the greater Wikimedia community doesn't want the template on the main page: They think it's inappropriate, and they think that (at least the old version) is a violation of NPOV.

Me? I'm done fighting both sides on this. You go ahead and do what you feel is right, and I'm sure the other side will do the same. Hopefully things settle peacefully and without the drama of desysops and blocks like it did the first time around.

Best of luck. Kylu 00:14, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Fjaaa en.wikipedia policies aren't acceptable here. I'm annoyed 'cause this "community" tries to keep down acewikipedia without support of policies against you are trying to say me. At least current template is neutral. Invitation to rfc and it's text doesn't take position which opinion is right. NPOV policy forbids political and religious statements no Wikipedia-relating. Same thing as linking current rfc:s from "Current events" page. Is that one pov? I have tried compromises as long as possible but in vain. Current template couldn't be anymore neutral. --Juhko 00:38, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

I'm not muslim and much less interested what will happen with Muhammad images here because this is rampage only more. --Juhko 00:38, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
