I comitati di volontari sono una parte importante di ciò che rende tale la comunità di Wikimedia. I volontari nella nostra comunità svolgono innumerevoli compiti, che spaziano dalla modifica di contenuti all’organizzazione di eventi, e ancora fino a sostenere la comunità ricoprendo posizioni di leadership. Queste posizioni di leadership sono ovunque intorno a te: amministratori, consulenti, stewards e membri di comitati di volontari.
Da ottobre a dicembre 2023, i membri della comunità avranno l'opportunità di esprimere il proprio interesse ad unirsi in uno dei tre comitati composti da volontari. Entrare in un comitato di volontari è un modo grandioso per portare l'esperienza da volontario ad un altro livello. Puoi sviluppare la tua leadership e incoraggiare altri a fare lo stesso.

Comitato per le Affiliazioni
Il Comitato per le Affiliazioni, o AffCom (secondo la sigla in lingua inglese), ha il compito di riconoscere i nuovi possibili affiliati e di aiutarli ad ottenere tale status attraverso report annuali e supportando la mitigazione di conflitti tra affiliati. AffCom formula raccomandazioni al Consiglio di Fondazione della Wikimedia Foundation sul riconoscimento, approvazione ed esistenza del Movimento di affiliati Wikimedia. AffCom aiuta, inoltre, i wikimediani di tutto il mondo ad auto-organizzarsi in capitoli, organizzazioni tematiche e gruppi di utenti e a ottenere il riconoscimento ufficiale dalla Wikimedia Foundation
Entare nel Comitato per le Affiliazioni
I volontari che ricoprirono questa posizione dovrebbero essere wikimediani con esperienza derivata da qualsiasi progetto e nel lavoro con gli affiliati per garantire una buona governance. Prospettive internazionali, collaborazione, lavoro di squadra e esperienza nella gestione di situazioni particolari sono tra i tratti indispensabili. Dato lo scopo del lavoro, è richiesto essere fluenti nel parlare la lingua inglese. AffCom cerca membri che si dedicano al comitato stesso, 7-10 ore al mese per un mandato della durata di 3 anni. I membri avranno la possibilità di candidarsi nuovamente dopo il completamento del loro mandato.
I candidati incontreranno AffCom e il collegamento del Consiglio con AffCom per parlare della propria posizione. Dopo confronti interni, i candidati selezionati saranno nomitati attraverso una risoluzione del Comitato per le Affiliazioni.
Commissione degli Ombudsman
La Commissione degli Ombudsman (OC) lavora su tutti i progetti di Wikimedia per attuare investigazioni avviate a seguito di lamentele riguardanti l’infrazione della Privacy Policy, la Policy per l’Accesso a Dati Personali Non-pubblici e l'uso degli strumenti CheckUser e Oversight (anche conosciuto come Suppression) su qualsiasi di essi. La commissione opera una mediazione tra le parti coinvolte nell'investigazione e, se vengono identificate violazioni delle policy, formula raccomandazioni per Wikimedia Foundation sulla loro miglior gestione. Possono anche assistere il General Counsel, l'AD o il Consiglio di fondazione della Fondazione in queste indagini quando legalmente necessario.
Joining the Ombuds commission
Volunteers in this role should be experienced Wikimedians, active on any project, who have previously used the CheckUser/Oversight tools OR who have the technical ability to understand these tools and the willingness to learn them. They must be able to communicate in English, the common language of the commission. They are expected to be able to engage neutrally in investigating these concerns and to know when to recuse if other roles and relationships may cause conflict. Commissioners will fulfill two-year terms.
Case Review Committee
The Case Review Committee (CRC) reviews appeals of eligible Wikimedia Foundation office actions. The CRC is a critical layer of oversight to ensure that office actions are fair and unbiased. They also make sure the Wikimedia Foundation doesn’t overstep established practices or boundaries.

Joining the Case Review Committee
The CRC is looking for current or former functionaries and experienced volunteers with an interest in joining this group. Applicants must be fluent in English (additional languages are a strong plus) and willing to abide by the terms of the Committee charter. If the work resonates and you qualify, please apply. Committee members will fulfill two-year terms.

Members are required to sign the Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information and must be willing to comply with the appropriate Wikimedia Foundation board policies (such as the access to non-public information policy and the Foundation privacy policy). These positions require a high degree of discretion and trust. Members must also be over 18 years of age.
The application is open now. Applications for AffCom will be posted on Meta-wiki for comments on October 17 and will close on November 17, 2023 in any timezone. The applications for the Ombuds commission and the Case Review Committee, which will not be posted on Meta-wiki, will close on December 31, 2023 in any timezone.
