Wikitext is a document written in a wiki markup language, such as the current one explained in Help:Editing (and see also Wikipedia DTD). It is a mixture of content, markup, and metadata.

• This page could eventually include a complete w:EBNF grammar for the Wikitext language. If you want to work on this, see the two pages mentioned above.
