Wikipedia now has a http://www.cafepress.com/ account. To make t-shirts, all we need is a suitable design. Please see below.

In celebration of Wikipedia Day, January 15, could someone make up T-shirts for sale (as originally mentioned on Making Wikipedia profitable) for us to buy. I was thinking possibly having the Wikipedia logo on the front with "20,000 articles in a year" or something similar on the back. I think if this is ever gonna be done, now is the time... Ideas for T-shirt Design

Let's list some ideas and then in traditional manner "vote" on them...

  1. The front has the wikipedia logo on it. The back is blank.
  2. Front: big wikipedia logo. Back: big letters saying "wikipedia.com".
  3. Front: logo. Back: "Be bold in updating pages!" Then a carriage return and then "wikipedia.com".
  4. Front: logo. Back: "20,000 articles created in one year." Next line: "www.wikipedia.com" (blue underlined)You can edit this T-shirt right now! (/blue underlined)".
  5. Same as #4 above but with re-attachable coloured felt-tip pen.
  6. Front: logo. Back: "Edit this page" translated into 22 languages.
  7. Front: A huge 'W' in the Wikipedia logo font. Back: the Wikipedia logo and URL

Feedback

  • #5 is a neat idea, but I doubt Cafe Press could do it...)
  • #6 would sell best to the non-English wikipedias
  • #1 lacks the URL; #2 lacks the information that users can edit; #4 appears a bit wordy. --AxelBoldt
  • #4 is good, but "20,000 articles created in one year" needs editing (ironic). How about "From the Aa River to ZX Spectrum in one year" - AriPap
